Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint Aerosol Hammered White 400ml. Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint in a 400ml aerosol, made to work as primer, undercoat and topcoat in one, with a hammered finish. Preparation: remove loose rust and flaking paint with a wire brush, wash off dirt and dust with diluted detergent and remove grease with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners, then rinse and let it dry; on bare zinc, aluminium and galvanised surfaces apply Hammerite Special Metals Primer first. How to use: keep the aerosol at room temperature for 2 hours before use, shake vigorously until the agitator ball is heard and then for a further 3 minutes. Spray light, even coats from about 15cm, keeping the can moving, and apply 3 to 4 coats, 15 minutes apart; between coats turn the can upside down and spray for 2 seconds to stop blockages.
